Accrington are two goals to the good as Kelsey Mooney makes it 2-0 against Peterborough. Likewise have Charlton who now lead Stevenage by the same score line.

Cambridge are in front at Bristol Rovers, League One Reading have doubled their advantage at Championship side Portsmouth, Lincoln are 1-0 up against Harrogate and AFC Wimbledon have broken the deadlock to lead Gillingham at Priestfield.

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:26 British Summer Time 12 August

    Plymouth 0-1 QPR

Rumarn Burrell is lightning quick down the Rs right and he latches onto a ball down the channel and holds off his man before fizzing a low, angled strike across goal which beats Luca Ashby-Hammond but flashes a foot past the far post too.

  3. Postpublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 12 August

    Northampton 0-0 Southampton

It really should be 1-0 to Southampton (part two)

Conor McCarthy is on hand to clear the ball off the line from Mateus Fernandes after an almighty scramble in the six-yard box.

    We await the breakthrough.

  4. Postpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 12 August

    Blackburn 0-2 Bradford

Sam Walker has kept City's two-goal cushion intact with a good save with his legs to deny Makhtar Gueye while Dion De Neve has fired off-target after another ball to Gueye was cut out in the box.

Blackburn have grown in stature but Nick Michalski has also needed to deny Will Swan a second at the other end.

  5. Postpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 12 August

    Northampton 0-0 Southampton

It probably should be 1-0 to the visitors.

Some neat build up ends with Ryan Manning sending a cross to the far post where Yukinari Sugarawa sends a shot off target when it seemed easier to score.

Sugawara feels his shirt was being pulled but referee David Rock isn't interested.

  6. Postpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 12 August

    West Brom 0-0 Derby

It's still all West Brom - high tempo, high press, just not high quality finishing as of yet for Ryan Mason's side.

  7. goal

GOAL - Wrexham 1-1 Hullpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 12 August

    Oli McBurnie (36 mins)

You can't say Wrexham hadn't been warned!

Oli McBurnie had gone close twice to a first goal for Hull City and now he has it, turning in a low cross from Joe Gelhardt.

Good tie between these Championship opponents.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 12 August

    Middlesbrough 0-2 Doncaster

Early Ben Close and Damola Ajayi goals have given Doncaster a lead they thoroughly deserve at the break.

Delano Burgzorg has thudded the post and been denied by Ian Lawlor, who has also thwarted Morgan Whittaker, but it's the League One side, who made 11 changes to Boro's five, who have looked the better side, much to the chagrin of the home faithful, who let their players know about it at times.

    Bromley 0-0 Ipswich

Bromley v Ipswich match actionImage source, PA

We've not seen much from Ipswich yet in this one - Bromley have had the best chance in the early stages but Deji Elerewe couldn't keep his effort down.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:17 British Summer Time 12 August

    Middlesbrough 0-2 Doncaster

Ian Lawlor to the rescue for Rovers as Delano Burgzorg works some room on the edge of the box and fires in a shot towards the far corner, only for the keeper to fly to his left and tip the ball round the upright.

Boro have improved but have a mountain to climb.

Loving all of this EFL Cup action (even if I am shielding my phone from my better-half, Laura) whilst supposedly enjoying the Tenerife poolside delights!

    Elliot Lee (31 mins)

Hull had the chances - but Wrexham take the lead!

Elliot Lee drives inside from the left wing and hits a low shot which takes a whacking great deflection off the heels of John Egan and loops into the back of the net...

Norwich lead Championship rivals Watford 2-0 at Vicarage Road. Josh Sargent and Marcelino Nunez with the goals for the Canaries - Nunez's from distance came following an absolute howler from Watford keeper Egil Selvic.

Grimsby are in front against Shrewsbury, Wigan lead Notts County thorough a Paul Mullin penalty and Oxford are ahead against Colchester thanks to Tyler Goodrham's goal at the Kassam Stadium.

  14. PLYMOUTH MISS PENALTYpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 12 August

    Plymouth 0-1 QPR

Tegan Finn is tripped in the box, earning the hosts the chance to make a swift reply from the spot, but Jamie Paterson's firmly-struck penalty is well saved down to his right by Paul Nardi, who might have crept off his line, if we're honest, but Hoops fans won't mind.

  15. 'Strong team has desired effect'published at 20:12 British Summer Time 12 August

    Cardiff 1-0 Swindon

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

Brian Barry-Murphy named a surprisingly strong team for this game; the new Cardiff head coach presumably wanting to get to know his players better and build some rhythm three matches into his tenure.

It's had the desired effect so far, with Cian Ashford firing them in front on the rebound after Joel Bagan's header was saved from Isaak Davies' corner.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:10 British Summer Time 12 August

    Wrexham 0-0 Hull

Great feet for a big man etc... Oli McBurnie weaves past the Wrexham defence to drive into the area and lash in a shot with the outside of his boot, well saved by Arthur Okonkwo.

  17. Postpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 12 August

    Coventry 0-0 Luton

Cauley Woodrow has a pop at goal for Luton but Ben Wilson makes the save.

Looking for something to spark this one.

  18. goal

GOAL: Plymouth 0-1 QPRpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 12 August

    Daniel Bennie (21 mins)

The bright start was all for nought.

Elijah Dixon-Bonner's pass is header goalwards by Rumarn Burrell, Luca Ashby-Hammond gets down to his right but can only parry it with Daniel Bennie waiting to pounce on the rebound from a couple of yards out.

Undeserved lead, but the Rs will take it.

  19. Postpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 12 August

    Blackburn 0-2 Bradford

'City of Culture, you'll never sing that...'

These travelling Bantams fans are having a fun night out, on and off the field.

    Rovers fans, less so.

Will Swan has come close to his second, and City's third, as he cut in from the right and flashes a deflected shot across goal and narrowly past the far post.
