Southampton having a worse time of it this weekend than their neighbours Portsmouth, which is some achievement.

A good sliding interception by Radu Dragusin to stop Tyler Dibling's through ball finding a team-mate. The home fans shout for handball but not given.

This is Spurs at their best. They break at pace and it's a good shot from Son Heung-min at the end of it. Alex McCarthy made a good save.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Southampton 0-4 Tottenham

Lucas Bergvall goes down in the box as everyone awaits a Spurs corner. Replays show Mateus Fernandes shoved the teenager straight into the post. Nasty stuff. The Southampton player is booked.

Son Heung-min almost proves me right immediately. James Maddison is allowed to run forward and picks out the Spurs captain, whose drive is tipped over by Alex McCarthy.

The annual 9-0 against Southampton is back. How we’ve missed you.

    Si, Birmingham

Time for the annual 9-0 defeat. Unfortunately we are so bad I'd probably take that right now as fear it could be worse.

If Spurs had played like this in some of the games that they've lost and got the points, they would be top 3 instead of mid table. If you're a Spurs supporter the most frustrating thing is the lack of consistency.

    Nick

Tottenham are truly unpredictable this season. What a bizarre score line.

They are five yards off in every aspect. Russell Martin has tried to tweak things around, but it's been the same.

If this carries on, I don't want to guess what the score will be.

Far too easy! It's like a training session for Tottenham.

They are just lining up at the edge of the box and this is the biggest confidence boost Spurs can get at this point of the season.
