Jersey Bulls won 3-0 at play-off chasing Abbey Rangers to consolidate third place in their league.

Lorne Bickley gave Bulls a 19th-minute lead as he blasted into the bottom corner from outside the box.

Luke Watson doubled the lead when he diverted home Jay Giles' free-kick seven minutes from the break.

Luke Campbell had a third goal chalked off just after the restart before Bickley converted an 85th-minute penalty after Watson had been fouled.

The victory was a seventh game unbeaten for Gary Freeman's side.

It sees Bulls cut the gap to second-placed Knaphill to just three points with both sides having four games left to play in Combined Counties Premier South.

"The wind really did spoil the game so it wasn't a great football game to watch, but I think we did the basics very well, competed and worked hard for each other and were clinical when chances came," Bulls manager Freeman told BBC Radio Jersey.

"It was similar to the game in the week and we probably played better in the week.

"But today we did the horrible things that you have to do sometimes to get through the game and I thought we did it better than Abbey, and the result reflects that.

"We've had a good week, three games away from home, not conceded, scored six and we're in a good spot."
