Guernsey FC got back-to-back wins for the first time since early March as they beat Sutton Common Rovers 4-2.

Maxwell Oldham gave Sutton a sixth-minute lead from a counter-attack.

But Ross Allen levelled from the penalty spot four minutes later after a foul on Charlton Gauvain in the area.

Matt Loaring turned in a long throw after 58 minutes to make it 2-1, but Aaron Jenkins made it 2-2 five minutes from the end before Allen got his second a minute later to seal victory.

Sam Murray ensured any nerves at Footes Lane were banished with a 90th-minute strike to make it 4-2 after a cool finish from a through ball.

Guernsey could have been further ahead before Loaring's goal as Owen Wallbridge forced an excellent close-range save from Sutton's Oshane Brown shortly before half time.

Brown made a smart save from Gauvain soon after the restart with Sam Murray putting the rebound over while the Rovers stopper did well to tip an Allen volley wide of the post soon after Loaring had struck.

The win over Sutton Common Rovers was just the fourth of the season for the Green Lions and moves them four points clear of the relegation places.
