Guernsey FC forward Jack Griffin is to join Bristol City's academy.

The 16-year-old - who has agreed a two-year deal - becomes the fourth player from the Green Lions to move to the Robins, who are owned by Guernsey resident Steve Lansdown.

Alex Scott, who went on to make a £25m move from Bristol City to Bournemouth at the start of this season, was the first Guernsey player to make the move.

Ben Acey and Tim Ap Sion have more recently joined the Championship side.

"I am incredibly proud to see yet another player progress through this pathway created," Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance said.

"Guernsey FC was largely set up to help talented and aspiring players from the island progress, and to see one or two join a professional club would have been testament to our ethos.

"However, to have four players sign in five years should not be underestimated."

Griffin made his Guernsey FC debut last August and has scored three goals in 15 matches - the last a late winner 10 days ago away at Binfield.

"We are delighted that Jack has decided to join us as there was significant competition," added Bristol City technical director Brian Tinnion.

"The link with Guernsey is now well established and we are looking forward to Jack's professional and personal development with us."
