Truro City beat Taunton Town in Gloucester on Saturday

Truro City will play a second home fixture 195 miles away in Gloucester.

The Cornish side's National League South fixture with Chelmsford City will be played at Gloucester City's Meadow Park on Saturday, 9 March.

They have been forced to move from their temporary home at Taunton Town due to a poor playing surface.

Truro started the season at Plymouth Parkway's Bolitho Park ground before deciding to move to Taunton last month after a number of postponements.

As Gloucester have a National League North game against Boston United at 15:00 GMT on Saturday, Truro's game will kick off at 19:30 GMT.

"We apologise to our own supporters and those of Chelmsford City for the later kick-off time, but with the wet weather showing little sign of abating across the South West, the use of an artificial surface gives certainty that the game will go ahead," a Truro City statement said.

"The club places on record its thanks to Chelmsford City and the National League for their assistance and understanding regarding this matter."

Truro hope to move back to Cornwall's capital in the summer with work underway on a new ground.
