Guernsey FC scored twice late on to beat Thatcham Town 3-1 and move up to 18th in Isthmian League South Central.

Matt Loaring headed Guernsey ahead from close range after 26 minutes.

Thatcham had Callum Willmouth sent off for a second booking just before the break while Guernsey's Dave Merris got a second yellow card after 79 minutes.

A minute later Thatcham levelled through Owen Clark, but Ross Allen headed Guernsey ahead after 85 minutes before Charlton Gauvain made it safe.

Guernsey could have been out of sight earlier in the half when Allen hit the bar from a free kick, while Ben Solway cleared a Thatcham effort off the line with the score at 1-0.

The win continues an upturn in form for the islanders who have won three and lost one of their last five matches.
