Paul Wotton saw his Truro side concede two late goals at Tonbridge

Manager Paul Wotton says Truro need to bounce back quickly after suffering a stoppage-time defeat at Tonbridge.

City conceded in the 84th and 93rd minutes to lose in their first of 13 National League South games in 28 days.

The White Tigers are two points above the drop-zone and face fourth-bottom Dartford on Tuesday - although they do have up to six games in hand on the sides around them.

"We need to get over Saturday and go again," Wotton told BBC Radio Cornwall.

In a game of few chances in Kent, Truro took the lead after 66 minutes when Tonbridge's Jordan Higgs slipped on the edge of his own box, giving substitute Josh Hinds the chance to slot his first City goal into an unguarded net.

Truro weathered some pressure but Angels levelled on 84 minutes when Higgs atoned for his error by firing into the bottom corner after a set-piece.

And the hosts pinched the points in the third minute of stoppage time when the City defence failed to deal with a low cross from Josh Popoola allowing Jamie Fielding to prod home the clincher.

"Defensively we looked pretty solid, I thought we looked good," Wotton added.

"We got a lucky goal and then I didn't see them scoring but to concede the two goals we did was really poor - two mistakes and they've scored two goals so it's not a good day.

"This one is going to sting for a little bit, you've got to go through a grieving process I suppose, then it's done. You need to get over it and go again Tuesday."

Dartford and third-bottom Eastbourne Borough both closed the gap on Truro with draws on Saturday.
