Truro City all but secured National League South survival after an impressive 3-1 win over play-off bound Maidstone United in Gloucester.

Tyler Harvey gave the White Tigers a 26th-minute lead before Dan Sullivan doubled their tally 11 minutes later.

Harvey made it 3-0 from the penalty spot with two minutes to go before Raphe Brown pulled a goal back in second-half stoppage time.

City are six points clear of the drop zone with three games to play.

But Taunton Town, who are the only team that could send Truro down, still have to play Torquay United and Hemel Hempstead - who are both below City.

The game was Truro's fifth in the past seven days as they continue to make up for a fixture backlog caused by wet weather.

"We were magnificent from the first whistle," manager Paul Wotton told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"I thought we were the better team first-half and then that's one and the best defensive performances I've seen second-half against a top, top team.

"My goalkeeper's not had one save to make in 97 minutes - I know they scored, and the goal's poor - but other than that we were really comfortable.

"We put our bodies on the line and defended magnificently, so I couldn't be prouder of the boys.

"This a huge win at a critical stage of the season. We've had a tough, tough week, we've still got to get over the line, but I don't have enough accolades for my players today.

"And it's for my whole squad, the boys on Monday night, the boys Wednesday night, the boys Thursday night, the boys Saturday, the whole squad is magnificent from top to bottom."
