Matt Loaring got his 100th goal for Guernsey FC as the island side were beaten 6-2 at home by Isthmian League South Central leaders Chertsey Town.

Loaring took his tally to 12 goals in the last 14 games for the islanders.

Two Gianluca Botti strikes and a Reece Robins goal saw Town lead 3-0 before Ross Allen's 34th minute goal saw Guernsey go into the break 3-1 down.

Loaring made it 3-2 just after half-time before the side nine points clear at the top of the table pulled away.

Wayne Ridgley made it 4-2 just before the hour mark while Chad Goulter got the fifth with 18 minutes to go and Oliver McCoy made it 6-2 in the first minute of stoppage time.

The defeat was Guernsey's heaviest since a 6-0 loss away at Bedfont Sports at the end of last season.

They have not lost as heavily at home since a 6-0 loss to Ashford United in February 2020 - their final game before the Covid-19 pandemic shut down non-league football.
